We woke up early for a morning walk around Ayers Rock to say our good byes. 6 mile walk around the base of the rock.... it was cold and windy. They were not letting anyone up the rock due to high winds... we were fortunate to climb it on the day we did.
We landed in Sydney and got our party bus and away we went... We arrived late in Canberra - which is the capital of Australia, basically Australia's Washington DC. It was REALLY cold and we saw snowflakes and a tiny bit stuck to the ground. I have no pictures but we had a fantastic breakfast, drove around the Parliament House and started off to Melbourne.
We were so excited to finally see wild kangaroos!!! Couldn't get a picture as they were pretty far off, but we did see ALOT when we finally spotted them. They were up on the hillsides in the late afternoon. Australian countryside is hilly and between the main towns there isn't much... reminded us of central United States... Sheep farms seem to be the most popular although we saw cows too.
First glimpse of Melbourne!
