FUN, FUN, and more FUN!

No wonder I am so tired this Monday morning... I just took a look at all that we did over the weekend!  We started off with a fun lunch with friends on early release Friday.  Complete with spooky cupcakes courtesy of Andrea!  So cute and so yummy!

After our lunch we headed to the park because staying inside on such an incredible day would be illegal!  Aubrey's class has a class "pet", Frankie the Fish.  This weekend we were in charge of taking care of Frankie the Fish so he went everywhere with us.  He is such a good little fish and was no trouble at all.  ;)  I am thankful that the class doesn't have a real pet that we have to keep alive for a weekend (especially a real fish as we know my track record of recent has not been so good).  All we had to do was not lose him - which did have me slightly worried.

Saturday we headed to Katy, TX to visit our Ducks and trekked out to Dewberry Farms for some photos and fun.  They let me experiment on them with my camera and I had a ball.  I learned alot and am determined to get better with my camera.  I love shooting the photos, but some of the very best ones didn't turn out as good as I would have liked... next time, next time...  I think I may invest in some lessons (is that okay, honey?)

Love their big and little sister shirts!

All of this was topped off by the Katy Triathlon (500 m swim, 15 mi bike and 3.1 mi run) on Sunday morning... which turned out to be an adventure.  I forgot my bike helmet (what, me forget something?  unheard of!) at Jessica's house that morning.  No time to go back home for it, so Justin and some friends took our bikes to transition and got us set up while we RACED to Walmart at 6:40 (transition was supposed to close at 7am, but stayed open 15 min late). We were back in 17 minutes with a snazzy new helmet!  After an extremely horrible swim (my very least favorite part of the tri) we settled onto our bikes and finished with one of our best runs to date.  Jess and I's race time was 1:32:29 (13th out of 33 for our age group)  and J's race time was 1:26:19 (including time to change a flat during the bike).  Not too bad considering our start that morning!

Sad to say this is Jess and I's last race in the 30-34 age group.  We are moving on up!  But now we are the young ones in the 35-39 and should be able to show those 39 year olds a thing or two... ha!
