Nevada is the most mountainous state in the union... you go over a pass and into a valley where you see the next set of mountains.... so you go through those and into another valley... where you see the next set of mountains. It's amazing really. It's also HOME for my hubby. He lights up and starts telling me all sorts of stories and interesting facts about Nevada and growing up in Nevada. I'll be brief and not share those with you here, but just start asking him questions about it if you have the need to know... ;)
We stopped at Great Basin National Park and spent a few hours here. It was about 90 at the bottom of this park and as we ascended the mountain we got to below 60 degrees. Mt Wheeler is in the Great Basin NP and we WILL return to this area for a camping trip and some hiking sometime. It is a REALLY neat area!! Unfortunately, we forgot NP's are not exactly dog friendly so Sierra couldn't participate in any of the walks. NOT FAIR - is what she would say if she could talk....

What goes up - must come down... you can see in the pic above that J has his bike helmet on... Well, its more thrilling to bike down a mountain than drive it so when you have your bike conveniently on the back of your car.... thats exactly what you do! He's insane!
The beast makes 100,000 miles... only 1500 or so more till she gets us back home!
