...Perspective is a funny thing... and Spring Break allowed me a trip back to my old life, the life where I took care of this family and that was my only job. Well, there is nothing like a job, JOB (the kind you have to show up to) to make my old life feel like a vacation. What?!? All I have to do this week was cook, clean and play with my kids - well, NOW that's my idea of a vacation...
Many of our trips are spent visiting family - and while we love that - this trip was just the 4 of us on a little adventure - and we also LOVED that! We rented a 22' travel trailer for a week and set off. Our goal was to make it to the Smoky Mountians and hike around the high points in that area, while knocking off the Alabama and Louisiana high points along on the way. Ambitious - yes - we realized that after day 1 in the car pulling the trailer - when we actually did the speed limit we got excited - we decided that maybe we would just take it a little slower, skip the Smoky Mountains and add the Mississippi high point instead. We still logged about 1750 miles - at 65 mph max... unless I was driving then I tried to keep it at 70 mph, but that worked the old Sequioa too much and got me in trouble!
