Guten Tag

Ja, we visited the town of Fredricksburg - about an hour from of San Antonio.  This would be a great place to weekend with my honey - minus the two minis.  There were tons of little shops with all sorts of expensive, breakable things in them, bed and breakfasts and adorable restaurants.  Our good friend, Luke, who is doing some training in San Antonio, was our tour guide for the day.  We made a new friend, Carrie, who is doing some training there as well before she moves to Germany in a month.  Fredricksburg was a warm up for her and her future in Germany.  We managed to not break anything and eat some good German food before heading to some of the local state parks.

We visited Enchanted Rock and Pedernales Falls State Parks on the COLDEST day of Spring Break.  We had nothing but sweatshirts and it was in the 40's with a windchill well into the 30's.  Brrrr.... I actually hunkered down between two rocks at one point and let everyone else go on while Taylor and I snuggled to stay warm.  It was cold!

Enchanted Rock - a pink granite outcrop

Pedernales Falls on the Pedernales River - we will definitely be back to do some camping in this area...

And, of course, the day is not complete without some trespassing.  Trespassing in Texas is a little risky if you ask me - this is the kind of state where everyone is packing and they shoot first and ask questions later!  But we survived and I'm not sure if it's because Justin is in the wind energy business or what, but now when Justin sees a windmill he has to climb it.... and figure out how to work it...  Great!  This particular windmill is on a ranch and is used to pump water to feed cattle.
