Homework is FUN!

Taylor is coming home with homework here and there and seems to be really enjoying doing the work at home. How long will that last, right?! As always, little sis wants to do exactly what big sis does - so Aubrey does her homework too - she is doing worksheets from Taylor's 4 year old class. As far as reading, Taylor is well on her way... she knows many of her her sight words and can read several of the Hooked on Phonics books I have. I am amazed at the amount that they accomplish in one day of Kindergarten - it is mind blowing to me. Also amazing is the improvement I have seen in her handwritting in just 3 weeks of school. All this hard work does lead to a pretty exhausted 5 year old though.  By Thursday, mom is the cheerleader saying - YOU CAN DO IT! Almost there! Keep it up! Friday is coming!

School highlights include: buying lunch for the first time... its a big deal because you line up first!, walking in to school with just a hug (one of our first days required two people pulling her in while she was crying loudly), and trips to the library (she brought home a beautiful book about the Sierra Nevada mountains - made daddy so proud).
