First, we flew "business class" to London. We had business class upgrade coupons and I don't think I can ever fly any other class again. Holy Moly! That was service and comfort. I could have spent a week on that plane and been perfectly happy.
From London, we took the train under the channel - as cool as it sounds it was quite uneventful - and got to Paris by 1 or 2pm the next day. Justin told me not to nap when we got there, but I had to! It was worth it... when I woke up and got around to getting out into the city. This is what I saw first...
The Eiffel Tower at night! Gorgeous!
We walked all over the city that night!
We made our way to the Arc de Triumph too
Headed back to the Eiffel Tower the next morning to take our tour of it by day light.
The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Fair and is completely impressive. I love it for the feat of building something that amazing so long ago! That's the nerdy engineer in me!
Sun coming up behind the tower
From the top
Looking out - see Eiffel's shadow to the right of center
Us on a lower observation deck
Notre Dame Cathedral
This is Justin in front of the WINDOW - the window that most people see from inside - however, I'd had enough lines and chose to see the window from the outside!
A tunnel to the main entrance of the Louvre
In line to enter the Louvre
There she is!
On the train leaving Paris bound for London.
LOVED PARIS!!!
We saw so many sights, we ate at fabulous restaurants, we spent quality time together. It was a GREAT trip! Then we were off to London for a day and a half...
