Ecuadorean Adventure!

The adventure has already begun with 2 flight cancellations and a sick kiddo. The US weather is wrecking havoc on my flight to Quito. They keep stealing my plane to make up for cancellations on higher priority routes. I was supposed to leave Houston this evening, but they cancelled the flight. I changed it to tomorrow evening, but they cancelled that too!  Now I depart tomorrow morning (7 Jan) with a connection through Panama City.
I've attached some picks of my packing. For clothes it's all about layers. I have up to 4 layers for legs and 5 for torso, 3 different weights of gloves, etc. Food was a challenge as I have to pack 10 days of mountain lunches that don't need refrigeration. My girls said I bought a bunch of junk food which is kind of true. My experience has been that things which taste okay at sea level taste terrible at altitude after a climbing a mountain for 10-hours. I divided the 'food groups' into protein, carbs, fruit, sugar and salty. The candy bars are for when I need to eat but don't feel like eating anything. I miss my girls already, but am excited for the incredible challenges to come. More updates to come...
